Types of Molecular Sieves

2023-09-13

Molecular sieves come in different types, such as 3A, 4A, 5A, and 13X. The numbers define the pore size and the chemical composition of the sieve. Potassium ions, sodium ions, and calcium ions vary in composition to control the pore size. Different sieves have different mesh sizes. Molecular sieves with fewer mesh sizes are used for gas separation, while those with more mesh sizes are used for liquid separation. Other important parameters of molecular sieves include form (powder or beads), bulk density, pH value, regeneration temperature (activation), moisture content, and so on.
